Cooperation with OSRAM Opto Semiconductors
Growspec is one of the few brands in Europe that can be proud of a collaboration agreement with the world leader in horticulture lighting – Osram Opto Semiconductors from Regensburg. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors GmbH of Regensburg, Germany, a wholly owned subsidiary of Osram GmbH, is the world’s second largest manufacturer of optoelectronic semiconductors after Nichia. The semiconductor products of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors include high-power LEDs in the visible range, high-performance infrared LEDs, high-quality optoelectronic detectors, and high-power semiconductor lasers. With the introduction of the LED in a brand new technology, designed especially for plant cultivation, Osram became an owner of the most technologically developed product on the market. As for now, our competition like Cree, Nichia or Citizen, that offers the horticulture LEDs, is far behind us in the brutal comparison of the LED efficiency measured in micromoles in each watt of delivered power. Osram Gmbh is one of the two largest suppliers of HPS lamps in the world, including the European Agro market. The Osram Opto Semiconductors’ efforts to cooperate with brands such as Growspec have the potential to fully replace traditional HPS sodium lamps, in the near future, with high-performance, energy-efficient lighting system for plant cultivation based on Osram LEDs. Our cooperation with Osram, combined with knowledge of Inhort and M-Tech Group’s experience in designing and commercializing LED solutions, allows our Partners to expect the highest quality products and continuous development of the used technology offered in the coming months.
